Northern Lights Hunt

This is not a bus tour to a fixed viewpoint. Aurora hunting is a moving game: cloud cover decides everything, and the best sky might be 10 km from town or 150. We check satellite cloud data and aurora forecasts through the evening and drive to where the odds are best — sometimes across the Arctic Circle into pure darkness, sometimes towards a gap in the clouds no big group could reach in time.

What the night looks like

We pick you up in central Rovaniemi in the early evening. From there the route is decided by the sky, not a script. At each stop your guide sets up for photography, helps you with your own camera or phone settings, and shoots portraits of you under the aurora when it appears.

Hot drinks and snacks come with us. So does patience — some nights the lights arrive in twenty minutes, some nights they make us work for it.

Our honest-sky standard

Plenty of operators call it a success if the camera picks up a green tint the eye can't see. We don't. If you couldn't see it yourself, we don't count it — and we'll tell you plainly what the forecast looks like before you book a night.
